So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God. — 1 Cor 10:31 BSB
Nothing in life is excluded—“whatever you do.” Even the simple acts of eating and drinking should be done to the glory of God. This means we must do everything in a way that pleases Him.
Eating to God’s glory means recognizing Him as the Giver of our daily food, asking for His blessing on it, eating in line with His design for our health, and using the strength we gain to serve Him.
If we eat selfishly or gluttonously, or consume food that harms our health, or fail to use the strength we gain to live obediently, we aren’t glorifying God.
In all we do, we must ask ourselves if it honors God. We are called to seek His kingdom and righteousness first, and that includes loving others in a way that blesses them.
Selfishness never glorifies God, but He is always pleased when we show love that doesn’t seek its own benefit.
