The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means that you are thoroughly defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? — 1 Cor 6:7 BSB
Christians should live together in love. They shouldn’t argue or fight with each other. They’re family, and brothers and sisters shouldn’t be in conflict.
If they have disagreements, they should work them out among themselves, not take each other to court before unbelievers.
Paul pointed out that it was a flaw in the Corinthian Christians that they had lawsuits against each other. He even suggested it would be better to suffer wrong or be cheated than to go to court over it.
Jesus taught the same principle—that His followers shouldn’t resist an evil person. If someone strikes them on one cheek, they should turn the other cheek as well. Retaliation is forbidden, and so is holding a grudge.
We don’t have to worry about letting people wrong us too much, rather than fighting for our rights. But we must be sure not to wrong others. Some people are more concerned with how others treat them than with how they treat others.
