And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. — Col 3:17 BSB

Our daily work greatly influences our character. For example, someone whose job it is to inspect the work of others, always looking for mistakes, must be careful not to let that critical attitude seep into their personal life.

A lady once asked the artist Hogarth to teach her how to draw caricatures. He responded, “It’s not a talent to be desired. Take my advice: don’t learn it. I’ve practiced it so long that I’ve lost the ability to enjoy beauty. I see every face as distorted, and I can’t appreciate the beauty of the human face anymore.”

We all need to guard against allowing our work habits to influence the way we see others. The way to avoid this danger is to be filled with unselfish love.
