My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD, and do not loathe His rebuke; — Prov 3:11 BSB

It’s natural that we don’t enjoy being disciplined. Even the Bible says, "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful." Not even God’s grace in our hearts can completely remove the sting of discipline.

We’re not expected to like it. But we are told not to despise it. This means we should accept it without complaining, as it comes from God’s hand to bring us a blessing.

It helps to remember that discipline comes from our Father. He doesn’t enjoy causing us pain, and He wouldn’t do it at all if it weren’t for our good in some way.

We should never despise any lesson our Father teaches us, no matter how painful it may be. He allows us to suffer because He loves us and wants to make our lives beautiful and holy.

We should be willing to endure any hardship or trial if it means becoming more like Christ.
