All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate the people one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. — Matt 25:32 BSB

The parable of the Judgment gives us profound insights.

On that great day, there will be a separation. A person’s relationship with Christ will determine their eternal destiny. Those placed on the King’s left hand aren’t accused of committing great crimes; instead, they are condemned for failing to show kindness. Their sin was neglect.

This is a sobering truth. We sin against Christ when we ignore those who are suffering or in need of help.

Another amazing truth revealed here is that Christ identifies with His followers. Whatever we do to them, we do to Him. When we neglect even the least of His followers, we are neglecting Christ Himself. “I was hungry, and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink.”

This should inspire us to show kindness to anyone in need. It might be Christ we are serving. How tragic it would be to turn Him away hungry from our door.
