As Peter traveled throughout the area, he went to visit the saints in Lydda. — Acts 9:32 BSB

Being an encourager is a great thing.

Peter traveled, helping new believers. There are always young Christians who need guidance from those with more experience. A strong word from someone older can give them courage to move forward. Peter “found” Aeneas, meaning he sought him out after hearing about his condition. We shouldn’t wait for people to come to us for help; we should seek them out. Peter gave all the credit to Christ, saying, “Jesus Christ heals you.” If we did our Christian work like this, it would have much greater impact.

Dorcas had earned a special place in people’s hearts through her acts of kindness. She didn’t just intend to do good works—she actually did them.

When Peter restored her, he first told her to get up, then gave her his hand to help. This is important in all our helping of others. We need to offer practical support along with words of encouragement.
