Morning

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. — 1 John 4:14 BSB

It’s a comforting thought that Jesus didn’t come into this world without His Father’s permission, authority, and support. He was sent by the Father to be the Savior of humanity. Sometimes we forget that while the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct persons, they are equally honored in the work of salvation. We tend to focus more on Jesus, but we shouldn’t overlook the Father’s role. Yes, Jesus came, but it was the Father who sent Him. If Jesus spoke with grace and power, it was the Father who gave Him those words and made Him the perfect minister of the new covenant.

Anyone who truly understands the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit never elevates one above the other. They were all involved—at Bethlehem, in Gethsemane, and on Calvary—all equally engaged in our salvation. Christian, if you’ve put your trust in Jesus, you are united with the God of heaven. By being connected to Christ, you are connected to the Eternal God, the "Ancient of Days."

Have you ever truly considered the depth of the Father’s love in sending His Son to carry out the mission of salvation? If not, make it your meditation today. The Father sent Him! Every act of Christ’s suffering and sacrifice reflects the Father’s love. Let every thought of Jesus remind you of the Father’s love, for "It pleased the Lord to crush Him and cause Him to suffer" for our sake.

Evening

At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. — Matt 11:25 BSB

It’s interesting how this verse begins: “At that time, Jesus answered.” If you look at the context, no one had asked Him a question or spoken to Him. Yet it says, “Jesus answered and said, I thank You, Father.” Who had spoken to Him? His Father! There’s no record of the conversation, and that teaches us something important: Jesus was in constant communication with His Father. God spoke to His heart so often that it didn’t even need to be recorded. It was simply part of Jesus’ everyday life to talk with His Father.

Just as Jesus lived in constant communion with God, so should we. Let us learn from His example and cultivate that same quiet, ongoing fellowship with the Father. There are moments when God speaks to our hearts in ways that others don’t hear or understand. May we be quick to respond, just as Jesus was. Whether it’s to confirm the truth of His promises, confess our sins, thank Him for His mercies, or affirm the lessons He’s teaching us, we should be ready to speak to Him.

What a privilege it is to have this intimate communion with the Father! It’s a joy the world cannot understand, a secret delight shared only between us and God. If we want to hear the whispers of His love, our hearts must be tuned to listen. This evening, may our hearts be in a place where, like Jesus, we can respond immediately when God speaks to us.
