Morning

Loyal love and faithfulness meet; deliverance and peace greet each other with a kiss. — Ps 85:10 NET

“A God who vindicates and delivers.”

The Lord wanted to exhibit his justice by magnifying his law and displaying it.

In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them.—God publicly displayed him at his death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed. This was also to demonstrate his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness.—He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.—Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.—But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, his faith is credited as righteousness.

Evening

“How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” — 1 Cor 15:35 NET

Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is.—And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the man of heaven.

A savior … the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.

Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” But they were startled and terrified, thinking they saw a ghost.—He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at one time.

Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you.
