Endure in suffering. — Rom 12:12 NET

“The Lord will do what he pleases.”—“Although I am innocent, I could not answer him; I could only plead with my judge for mercy.”—“The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. May the name of the Lord be blessed!”—“Should we receive what is good from God, and not also receive what is evil?”

Jesus wept.—One who experienced pain and was acquainted with illness… But he lifted up our illnesses, he carried our pain.

“For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son he accepts.” … Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness for those trained by it.—Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of all patience and steadfastness, joyfully.—“In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage – I have conquered the world.”

He did not waver in unbelief about the promise of God. — Rom 4:20 NET

Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, if someone says to this mountain, ’Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”—Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

He had received the promises, yet he was ready to offer up his only son. God had told him, “Through Isaac descendants will carry on your name,” and he reasoned that God could even raise him from the dead, and in a sense he received him back from there.—He was fully convinced that what God promised he was also able to do.

“Is anything impossible for the Lord?”—“For God all things are possible.”—“Increase our faith!”
