Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. — Phil 3:1 BSB

Depression has no spiritual value. One bright and thankful look at the cross is worth a thousand self-condemning reflections. The longer you focus on your failures, the more they will pull you down and shape you into their likeness. Instead, lay them at the cross, accept the cleansing power of Christ’s blood, and count yourself as dead to the sin that entangled you. Then, rise up as a new person in Christ, identifying yourself with Him, and stand blameless before the Father, just as Jesus does.

Every fault can teach us a lesson of watchfulness or reveal a secret of victory. In time, you may even thank God for your painful experiences.

Praise is a sacrifice—it is acceptable to God and sweeter than the songs of angels. Praise should be constant, the "sacrifice of praise" offered continually. Just as one drop of poison can contaminate a cup of wine, one moment of gloom can darken a whole day. Let us rejoice always.
