I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. — Gal 2:20 BSB
Let us learn the secret of our faith. It is the faith of Christ within us, springing up in our hearts and sustaining us through trials. As we say with Paul, "The life I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me," we will discover the rest that comes from looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. Instead of struggling to attain God’s promises, we will rest on them, supported by a faith that is no more our own than the promises themselves.
Every new need will find us leaning afresh on Him for the grace to trust and overcome. And in this trust, we will find the true spirit of prayer, where Christ Himself sings praises in our hearts, turning prayer into victory songs, as Paul and Silas did in the Philippian prison. When Christ is in us, the spirit of faith becomes the spirit of praise.
