They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.” — John 12:21 BSB
When a great blessing is near, the devil will always try to make the circumstances so unpleasant that we miss it. It’s important to recognize him as a liar and remember that if he is fiercely opposing something, it may be the very area where God has the greatest blessing in store for us.
Spurgeon once said that the best evidence of God being on our side is the devil’s growl. Often, the very thing that Satan dislikes the most is what we should be pursuing.
Beloved, beware of letting your prejudices push you away from God’s people and truth. You may be missing out on the treasures of your life. Like earthly treasures that often come hidden in rough shells or embedded in hard rock, heavenly treasures may come wrapped in challenges or difficulties.
I have seen Jesus, and my heart is dead to all but Him,
I have seen Jesus, and He supplies my every need,
I have seen Jesus, and now my heart is satisfied,
Since I have seen Jesus.
