They had dedicated some of the plunder from their battles to the repair of the house of the LORD. — 1 Chr 26:27 BSB
Physical power is stored in the depths of the earth, in coal mines, which came from the fiery heat that consumed great forests in ancient times. In the same way, spiritual power is stored in the depths of our being, often through sufferings we cannot fully understand. One day we will realize that the deliverance we gained through these trials was preparing us to become strong and courageous guides for others in their own journey, helping fellow pilgrims find their way to the city of the King.
But let us remember that true help for others must come from victorious suffering. Complaints and murmurs benefit no one. Paul didn’t carry a burden of sorrow, but a chorus of victorious praise. The more intense his trials, the more he trusted and rejoiced, even shouting from the altar of sacrifice, "Yes, and if I am offered on the service and sacrifice of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all."
Lord, help me today to draw strength from everything that comes my way.
