December 17

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. — Phil 4:6 BSB

How do you lay your burdens down? Jesus said, “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” When we take up His yoke, we discover that His burden is always light, while our own burdens are heavy. Happy is the day when we exchange our burdens for His and lay them at His feet. God wants His workers to be at rest, and He is too kind to place His burdens on those already weighed down by their own.

Are you fearful, fretting, or anxious?
You can never know God's perfect peace.
Lean on Him, lay down your burdens,
And all your anxious cares will cease.
Would you know the peace He’s given?
Would you find the joy of heaven?
Be careful for nothing,
Be prayerful in everything,
Be thankful in anything,
And the peace of God that passes understanding
Shall guard your heart and mind.
