A Guide All the Way

For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death. — Ps 48:14 BSB

We all need guidance. Sometimes, we would give anything to be told exactly what to do or which direction to take. We want to do what’s right but don’t always know which path to follow. How we long for a guide!

The Lord, in His kindness, offers to be our guide. He knows the way, and He will lead us safely to our destination. There’s no need for anything more than His perfect guidance. If we fully trust Him, we won’t lose our way. If we follow His law, we won’t stray from the right path, provided we lean on Him every step of the way.

Our great comfort is that God will be our guide forever. He will lead us all the way to the end of our journey and into eternity. This promise of divine guidance ensures lifelong security: salvation now, guidance until our last breath, and eternal joy beyond. Shouldn’t everyone seek this in their youth, rejoice in it in middle age, and rest in it as they grow older? Today, let us look to God for guidance before we take a single step.
