Always Growing

Jesus said to him, “Do you believe just because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.” — John 1:50 BSB

This message is directed to a believer with a childlike faith, who was ready to accept Jesus as the Son of God, the King of Israel, based on just one convincing piece of evidence. Those who are willing to see will indeed see; it's when we close our eyes that we become sadly blind.

We’ve already seen so much. The Lord has shown us great and unsearchable things, and we praise His name for them. But there are even greater truths in His Word, deeper experiences, higher levels of fellowship, more significant works of service, and greater revelations of His power, love, and wisdom. These are still ahead of us if we are willing to trust our Lord. While the tendency to invent false doctrine leads to destruction, the ability to see the truth is a blessing. Heaven will be opened to us, the path to it will be made clear through the Son of Man, and we will become more aware of the spiritual interactions between heaven and earth.

Let’s keep our eyes open to spiritual realities and expect to see more and more. Let’s believe that our lives won’t fade into insignificance but will continually grow, seeing greater and greater things until we finally behold God Himself and never lose sight of Him again.
