Precious Things

Concerning Joseph he said: “May his land be blessed by the LORD with the precious dew from heaven above and the deep waters that lie beneath, — Deut 33:13 BSB

We can be rich in the blessings Joseph received, but in an even greater sense. Oh, for the "precious things of heaven"!

Power with God and the manifestation of His power in our lives are truly precious. We want to experience the peace of God, the joy of the Lord, and the glory of our God. The blessing of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—given to us in love, grace, and fellowship—is more valuable than the finest gold. Earthly riches can’t compare to the treasures of heaven.

“The dew.” How precious this is! How we pray for and praise God when His dew falls on us! It brings refreshing, growth, fragrance, and life. As plants of the Lord’s own hand, we need the dew of His Holy Spirit above all else.

“The deep that couches beneath.” This surely refers to the unseen waters underground that supply all the fresh springs bringing life to the earth. Oh, to tap into these eternal fountains! This is an unspeakable blessing, and no believer should be satisfied until they have received it. The all-sufficiency of God is ours forever—let’s draw from it now.
