Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. — 2 Cor 12:8 BSB
Many prayers seem to go unanswered, but in reality, they are answered in ways we do not immediately recognize. The blessing may come in a form we didn’t expect.
Sometimes the burden we asked to be lifted remains, but we are given the strength to carry it. We might not be spared from suffering, but through it, we draw nearer to God and receive more of His grace. The sorrow may not be taken away, but it is transformed into joy.
Our imperfect prayers are brought before God by our great Intercessor, Jesus, and He answers them in far wiser ways than we could have imagined. Instead of the temporary things we often ask for, God gives us eternal riches. Instead of the pleasures of a moment, He grants us treasures that last forever.
