I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you. — Gen 12:3 BSB
It’s amazing how God stands alongside His people in this world. Wherever they go, they represent Him, and whatever is done to them, God takes it personally, as if done to Himself. It’s dangerous to harm any of God’s people because in doing so, one lifts a hand against God. Jesus made the same point about His connection to His followers. Hurting a Christian is like hurting Christ Himself. Neglecting a Christian in need is as if Christ Himself is suffering and being ignored.
We must be careful never to harm any of Christ’s followers. On the flip side, any kindness shown to one of Christ’s friends is also considered kindness shown to Him and will be rewarded accordingly. Even something as small as offering a cup of cold water to a disciple in Christ’s name doesn’t go unnoticed by God.
Surely, it’s a privilege to be a Christian, to have such divine friendship, to know that God defends us and stands with us in every situation.
