I know that You can do all things and that no plan of Yours can be thwarted. — Job 42:2 BSB

We often find that we cannot accomplish what we desire to do. Many of our plans are thwarted. We dream of doing good and beautiful things, but our efforts fall far short of our dreams. Our clumsy hands cannot create the loveliness that our hearts envision. Our faltering strength prevents us from achieving the noble goals we aspire to. No artist ever paints on canvas the full beauty of the ideal in their mind. No singer ever fully expresses the music that stirs within them. No eloquent orator ever speaks all that they feel when pleading for truth or justice.

In the same way, we achieve only a fraction of what we set out to do in life. We may start the day with the intention of living a life of usefulness, kindness, patience, and victory, but by the evening, we find that only a small portion of those good intentions have been realized.

But God’s plans are always fulfilled. No power can resist Him or prevent His will from being accomplished. This was the thought that gave Job peace in his long and difficult trial. All things were in God’s hands, and nothing could hinder His plans of love. Our God is infinitely strong. In the midst of earthly confusion, strife, and trouble, His hand is at work, bringing good out of evil for those who trust in Him. He always carries out His purposes for good. He is never hindered in blessing His children.
