Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! — Lam 3:22-23 BSB
The glory of God’s love is that it is always fresh and new. It never expresses itself the same way two days in a row. We may have to patch up our old things and use them again and again, but God never does that. He never gives us last year’s leaves again; each spring, every tree gets new, beautiful foliage. He doesn’t revive last year’s withered flowers; He gives us new flowers every summer.
So it is with His messages of love. They are not repeated over and over. Every time we read the Bible, its words come fresh from the lips of God, always new. They never grow old. They are like water from a spring, always fresh and flowing.
The same is true of the blessings of prayer. Morning by morning, we kneel before God, seeking His favor. He does not give us the same blessing every time but has a new one ready for each new day. Our needs change from day to day, and God’s blessing always matches the need. We are taught to live day by day, and God’s goodness comes to us new every morning.
