Take me away with you—let us hurry! May the king bring me to his chambers. We will rejoice and delight in you; we will praise your love more than wine. It is only right that they adore you. — Song 1:4 BSB

How many of us can truly echo the words of the bride in Scripture, or have ever been able to express such a deep desire in our lives? We must have had some glimpse of the preciousness and beauty of Jesus before we can cry out, “Draw me,” from the depths of a sincere heart. A genuine soul is afraid to approach the holy God, whose eyes are like flames of fire, with false prayers or empty words. But if that desire has ever been stirred in your heart, if that prayer has ever risen from your soul, “Draw me, we will run after you,” it had to be the work of the Holy Spirit. He kindled those feelings and gave you living faith in the Son of God.

And “whoever believes will be saved.” No matter the doubts, fears, temptations, or trials that you face, “whoever believes will be saved.” Even if you have only been given the smallest grain of faith in Christ’s glorious person—if you’ve had one sight of his atoning blood, one taste of his love poured into your heart—you are destined for glory. You are saved with an everlasting salvation, secured in Christ. The Lord who kindled these strong desires for himself in your soul will surely fulfill them, just as he did for the bride when he called to her: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For the winter is past, the rain is over, the flowers bloom on the earth, and the song of birds fills the air. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.”
