Believing And Receiving!
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. — Mark 11:24 BSB
It is not enough to simply pray and ask; we must also believe that we have received. We can only do this when we know we have asked according to God’s will (1 John 5:14-15). This can be determined by referring to God’s Word, which is filled with great and precious promises, like banknotes or checks waiting to be cashed.
In prayer, it is important to be deliberate. Consider carefully what you are about to ask, find a promise from Scripture that supports your request, and then, after asking, wait for your soul to appropriate what it needs. The time may not yet be right for the request to be fulfilled, but rest assured, the request is granted. The desired gift is already set aside in God’s storehouse, labeled with your name, waiting for the perfect moment to be given, just as we sometimes prepare Christmas presents in advance and store them until the right time.
Prayer
We thank You, O God, for the daily gifts of Your provision, but above all for the gift of Yourself in Jesus our Lord, in whom all good and perfect gifts are found. Amen.
