"We love Him because He first loved us." This is where the journey of love begins. This is the small stream that later swells into a river, the spark that ignites a life of devotion. The freed soul loves the Savior for the freedom He has given. It contemplates the agony with which that priceless gift

was bought and adores the suffering Savior for the pains He endured so generously.

Looking back on our lives, we see that God’s kindness has run through it all like a silver thread.

Most of us are just beginners in our spiritual education; we’ve barely learned the basics. An old theologian once said, "He who has been in Heaven for five minutes knows more than all the scholars on earth." Yet, just as everything in the vast library

can be expressed using the letters of the alphabet, so too does knowing Jesus as the Alpha and Omega encompass all heavenly wisdom.
