Spurgeon’s Daily Help
"Jesus answered and said, I thank You, O Father." It was Jesus’ habit and way of life to talk with God. May we also have a silent fellowship with the Father, so that we often find ourselves answering Him, even if the world doesn’t know who we’re speaking to. May we respond to that inner voice, heard
only by the ear that the Spirit of God has opened. What a privilege it is to have intimate communion with the Father of our spirits! It’s a secret hidden from the world, a joy that even our closest friends cannot fully share.
May our hearts be in such a state today that when God speaks to us, we, like Jesus, are ready to answer Him right away.

A highlander who bought a barometer without understanding its purpose complained that it didn’t seem to improve the weather. Similarly, those who use signs and evidences for purposes they aren’t meant for will complain that their faith isn’t growing,
even though they are constantly examining themselves. Yet, like a barometer, evidences of grace have their uses.
