Today’s Quote

What the heart loves best, the mind studies most.

— Richard Sibbes

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

During a sermon, two people might be listening to the same message; one listens as attentively as the other and remembers just as much. But while one person is moved to tears or deep reflection, the other simply hears some important truths well presented. Why does the same truth affect one person so

deeply but not the other? It’s because the mysterious Spirit of the living God moves the truth into one heart but not the other.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

We must drink deeply from the living water ourselves until we are full, and only then will rivers of living water flow from us. You can’t distribute loaves and fishes from an empty basket, no matter how hungry the crowd is. You can’t speak meaningful

words from an empty heart, or share deep truths from a shallow soul, or bring life from a dead heart. Be blessed so that you can be a blessing.
