Today’s Quote

Vigilance and prayer are the soul’s armor against unseen dangers.

— Thomas Watson

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

"Hold me up, and I shall be safe." After you pray, remain vigilant; guard every thought, word, and action with careful attention. Don’t expose yourself to unnecessary risks, but if you must face danger, never go without your spiritual armor. The devil will see any opportunity to cause you to stumble.

While he cannot destroy you, he can wound you. "Be sober, be vigilant," for danger can strike when you least expect it. Therefore, watch and pray. May the Holy Spirit guide you in all your ways.

If we saw someone dying from cold, we’d quickly share our clothing. So how can we see people spiritually destitute and not tell them about Jesus, who can clothe them in righteousness? We’d do everything to save a life in danger, yet this earthly life

is nothing compared to eternal life. Being indifferent when people are perishing is a sign that compassion has left our hearts.
