They go from strength to strength, until each appears before God in Zion. — Ps 84:7 BSB
As the Lord is faithful, no spiritual pilgrim will ever fall and perish in the valley of Baca. Some may fear that through temptation, their strong desires or raging lusts will one day break out and ruin them. No, not if they are true pilgrims. "Every one of them in Zion appears before God." Others may think they will never receive a testimony, never clearly read their name in the Book of Life, never feel the Lord's presence in their heart or receive his blessing. But if Jesus is truly theirs, they will.
Are they spiritual pilgrims? Do they find this world a valley of tears? Are their hearts set toward Zion? Have they come out of the world? Do they sometimes find refreshment in the valley of Baca, turning it into a well? Has the rain of God's grace filled the pools for them? And have they ever felt their strength made perfect in weakness? Then every one of them will appear before God in Zion. What a blessed end! How sweet is the fulfillment of the pilgrim’s hopes, desires, and expectations! It is the crowning blessing of all God has to give. "Every one of them appears before God," washed in the blood of the Savior, clothed in the righteousness of the Redeemer, adorned with the graces of the Spirit, and made fit for the inheritance of the saints in light.
No more weeping! The valley of Baca is passed, and every tear is wiped away. No more thorns to hurt the weary feet, no wild beasts to attack, no lurking enemies to surprise them, no doubts, fears, or sorrows to trouble them. Safe in Zion, safe in the arms of the Redeemer, safe in the bosom of their Savior, every one of them appears before God in glory!
