Today’s Quote

The promises of God never fail, for they rest on the inexhaustible fullness of His grace.

— John Newton

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

The most precious insights ever given to human minds are those that come from the Great Father. Tell me, dear soul, what do you receive in Christ every time you go to Him? Can’t you say, "Oh! I receive more love for Him than I had before; I never draw near to Him without gaining a large draught and ample

supply of God’s love." Out of His fullness, we receive grace upon grace and love upon love. In short, by faith, we behold the glory of the Lord as in a mirror and are transformed into that same image—and the image of God is love. Live on Christ, who is your daily manna, and you will live well.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

When flower seedlings are first planted, they need more water than they will later. When they’ve sent out more roots, and those roots have produced abundant fibers to search through the soil for moisture, they won’t need as much care from the gardener,

but right now they must have it, or they will die. So, I say, let the feeble, the weak, the young beginners in grace be watered most anxiously and lovingly by all who seek their good.

Spurgeon’s Quote

Nothing teaches us about the preciousness of the Creator as much as when we learn the emptiness of everything else.
