Proverbs 24:16

For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (KJV)

For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up; but the wicked stumble in bad times. (BSB)

Grace will not allow the righteous to be utterly cast down; they rise because their foundation is in Christ.

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

"Meadows may occasionally flood, but the marshes are drowned by the tide every time it returns."

This is the difference between the sins of the righteous and those of the wicked. True believers may be overwhelmed by sin when surprised by temptation, but the ungodly delight in sin and live in it as their

natural habitat. A believer in their errors is like a star under a cloud, but the sinner is darkness itself. The righteous may fall into sin, but the unrighteous run toward it, wallow in it, and return to it again and again.

Don’t imagine that there’s a long delay between the moment of death and the beginning of eternity in glory. When our eyes close on earth, they open in Heaven. The chariots of fire don’t take long on their journey. So, child of God, what is there to fear

in death, knowing that through your Lord’s death, its curse and sting have been removed? Now, death is just like Jacob’s ladder: its foot is in the dark grave, but its top reaches up to everlasting glory.
