Today’s Quote

Rejecting God leads only to emptiness; He alone is the fountain of life and truth.

— Richard Sibbes

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

It’s amazing how the people who are most critical of faith are often the most gullible. By rejecting God, the living fountain, they’ve dug for themselves broken cisterns that can’t hold any water. Oh, that we may all be wiser, that we may not abandon the good old path or leave the way God has prepared

for us. It’s no wonder we end up among thorns and briars, hurting ourselves, or worse, getting lost among dark mountains and deep chasms, if we despise the guidance of our unerring Father.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

February 26

A man walking alone on a dark road known to be dangerous would carry his sword drawn, ready to defend himself against any attackers. In the same way, Christians, knowing they are in enemy territory, should pray constantly. Keep your sword in your hand.

Unsheathe the powerful weapon of prayer. This is the true weapon that can cut through any defense. Don’t fear any enemy if you can pray. Even Satan trembles at the power of prayer.
