Limitless Riches

And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. — Phil 4:19 BSB

Paul’s God is our God, and He will supply all our needs. Paul was confident that this was true for the Philippians, and we are confident that it is true for us. God will meet all our needs because it is in His nature to do so. He loves us, He delights in blessing us, and it glorifies Him to provide for us. His compassion, power, love, and faithfulness all work together to ensure that we are not left in need.

What a measure God uses to meet our needs: “According to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” The riches of His grace are vast, but how can we even begin to comprehend the riches of His glory? God provides for us out of His infinite riches in Christ. He makes Jesus the source and the channel of His fullness and then pours His wealth of love into our lives in the highest possible form. Hallelujah!

The writer knows what it means to be tested in the Lord’s work. At times, faithfulness has been met with opposition, and financial support has been withheld. But those who sought to oppress him have not succeeded in making him poorer. In fact, he has grown richer, for this promise has held true: “My God shall supply all your needs.” God’s provision is more secure than any bank.
