Spurgeon's Prayer: Trusting in God's Protection
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
— Proverbs 18:10 (BSB)
When you go through a trial, the sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which you lay your head.
— Charles Spurgeon
Heavenly Father, as the day ends, we run to You, our strong tower and refuge. You are our protector, and we are safe in Your care. Tonight, we lay down our fears and anxieties at Your feet, trusting that You are in control. We are often surrounded by trials and challenges, but we know that nothing can harm us while we are sheltered in Your presence. You are our rock, our fortress, and in You, we find peace.
Lord, we confess that we are weak and prone to fear. But we trust in Your sovereignty over every situation we face. Even when the path is uncertain, and our hearts are troubled, we rest in the knowledge that You hold all things in Your hands. Just as a child runs to a parent for safety, we run to You now, finding comfort and strength in Your care.
Father, help us trust You more deeply. Take away our anxieties and worries. We know that You are with us, even in the darkest moments. As we rest tonight, remind us that we are never alone. You are always near, guiding us and protecting us from harm. Thank You for being our shield and defense, for going before us and watching over us.
As we close this day, we surrender all our burdens to You. Guard our hearts and minds as we sleep, and give us the peace that surpasses all understanding. We trust that when we wake, we will find You still there, our faithful protector and loving Father. In You, we place our confidence, for You are our strong tower, and we are safe in Your hands.
