Rain Without Clouds? Never!
If the clouds are full, they will pour out rain upon the earth; whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie. — Eccl 11:3 BSB
Why, then, should we fear the clouds that darken our skies? Sure, for a while they hide the sun, but the sun isn’t extinguished; it will shine again soon. In fact, those dark clouds are full of rain, and the darker they are, the more likely they are to bring abundant showers. How can we have rain without clouds?
Our troubles have always brought us blessings, and they will continue to do so. They are the dark chariots carrying bright grace. These clouds will soon empty themselves, and every small plant will be glad for the rain. God may drench us with sorrow, but He won’t drown us in His wrath; instead, He will refresh us with His mercy. Often, His love letters come in envelopes edged in black. His wagons may rumble, but they are filled with blessings. His rod blooms with sweet flowers and nourishing fruit. So, let’s not fear the clouds; instead, let’s sing, knowing that the May flowers come through the April showers.
O Lord, the clouds are the dust of Your feet! How near You are in the cloudy and dark days! Love sees You and is glad. Faith sees the clouds emptying themselves and making the hills rejoice on all sides.
