It’s always well with the righteous, no matter what. From the beginning of the year to the end, in every situation and circumstance, it’s well with them. They couldn’t be better off—well-fed on the body and blood of Jesus, clothed in His righteousness, housed in God, and married to Christ. They’re well-provided

for, because the Lord is their Shepherd, and they’re rich, for Heaven is their inheritance.

A wise preacher once said, “Hang on to Him who hung on the cross.” This is the essence of saving faith; if you have this, you’re saved because you’re connected to the Savior, and as long as He stands, so do you. But be sure to rely completely on Him;

trying to hold on to both Jesus and yourself will lead to failure, as it’s both an insult to Him and an idolization of your own imagined righteousness.
