A Plan for Each Life
There came a man who was sent from God. His name was John. — John 1:6 BSB
He had His mission from God, coming as God’s messenger, doing God’s work. But each of us is also “sent from God” into this world. If we are sent from God, it’s for a reason. God has a plan for each of our lives. No one is born by accident, and no one comes without a purpose. This is something we should reflect on. People often think that only men like Moses, John the Baptist, or Paul had specific missions from God, and that their lives were exceptions. But it’s not true that we common people are any less sent from God. We may not have seen a burning bush or had a direct call from God’s lips. No angel announced our mission, and we weren’t blinded by heavenly glory.
But each of us is still “sent from God” with a purpose just as clear as Moses, John, or Paul. Are we living out God’s plan for us? Are we fulfilling the work He sent us to do? These are important questions, and we need honest answers because, in the end, we’ll be accountable to God for how we fulfilled our mission. Any life that doesn’t accomplish the work God sent it to do is a failure. We find our mission through simple obedience to God, allowing Him to guide us. He prepares us for our place, and at the right time, leads us into it. We can miss our mission only by choosing our way instead of God’s.
