Holy Foresight
“You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.” — Matt 26:64 BSB
Lord, when You were in Your lowest state, standing before Your persecutors like a criminal, Your faith still looked beyond Your present suffering to the glory that lay ahead. What powerful words You spoke: “Nevertheless, hereafter!” I want to follow Your example and, even in the midst of hardship, sickness, or criticism, say, “Nevertheless, hereafter.” You moved from weakness to all power, from shame to all glory, from ridicule to worship. Your cross didn’t diminish the brilliance of Your crown, and the insults didn’t lessen Your beauty. In fact, You are even more exalted and honored because of Your sufferings.
Lord, help me also take courage from the "hereafter." Let me forget today’s troubles by focusing on tomorrow’s triumphs. Guide me into Your Father's love and give me patience, so that when I’m ridiculed for Your sake, I won’t be shaken. Help me think more of the “hereafter” and less of today. Soon, I will be with You and see Your glory. So, I’m not ashamed and can say with all my heart, “Nevertheless, hereafter.”
