Today’s Quote

The more we know of God, the more we shall desire to know Him.

— John Calvin

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

Strive to know the Father deeply; confess your unworthiness and receive the embrace of his love. Let the ring of his eternal faithfulness be on your finger; sit at his table and let your heart rejoice in his grace. Then, go further and seek to know Jesus Christ more intimately; know him as eternal God,

and also as a suffering, finite man. Follow him as he walks on water with the authority of deity and as he sits by the well in the weariness of humanity. Don’t be satisfied unless you know much about Jesus as your Friend, your Brother, your Husband, your everything.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

September 26

Each of the redeemed has a life full of wonders, and so each should offer a wealth of praises. Who can fully recount the marvels of grace that the Lord has worked for his church? They are as high above our thoughts as the heavens are above the earth.

When will our silent tongues learn to praise him? Our harps are gathering dust due to inexcusable neglect. "Wake up, my glory; wake up, psaltery and harp: I will wake up early myself."
