Morning

“I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites.” — Deut 18:18 NET

“[Moses] was standing between the Lord and you at that time to reveal to you the message of the Lord, because you were afraid.”—For there is one God and one intermediary between God and humanity, Christ Jesus, himself human.

Now the man Moses was very humble, more so than any man on the face of the earth.—“Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”—You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature.

Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken. But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. We are of his house, if in fact we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.

Evening

Eternal comfort. — 2 Thess 2:16 NET

“Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish a lasting covenant with you.”

For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy.—So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.—I know the one in whom my faith is set and I am convinced that he is able to protect what has been entrusted to me until that day.

For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.—Who will separate us from the love of Christ?—“The Lamb in the middle of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”—And so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

For this land is not secure!—For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
