But Jesus turned and rebuked them. — Luke 9:55 BSB
Someone once said that the most spiritual people are the easiest to get along with. A little of the Holy Spirit can be like a little learning—dangerous. But a full baptism of the Holy Spirit, along with a disciplined and mature spiritual life, makes a person simple, tender, and considerate of others, like a little child.
James and John, in their early zeal, wanted to call down fire on the Samaritans. But later, the aged John patiently endured suffering for the kingdom, and Paul, in his maturity, was willing to accept Mark, whom he had once rejected, acknowledging him as “useful for ministry.”
I want the love that cannot help but love;
Loving, like God, for very sake of love.
A spring so full that it must overflow,
A fountain flowing from the throne above.
Now abide faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is love.
