I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. — Gal 2:20 BSB
Faith is often hindered by what we call faith. Fruitless efforts to force faith are nothing more than desperate attempts to trust God. The truth is, the only faith that matches the vast promises of God and the great needs of our lives is God’s own faith. He gives this faith to us, empowering us to trust Him. Just as He enables us to love, obey, and serve, He enables us to believe.
Blessed be His name! He doesn’t give us a chain that falls short, leaving the final link to us. No, even the last link in that chain—the human side—is just as divine as the rest. His command is simple: “Have the faith of God.” And Paul testified to the truth of this when he said, “I live by the faith of the Son of God.”
Lord, teach me to have the faith of the Son of God.
